Butterfly Stage

These works are from my butterfly stage. I would draw butterflies most of the time during this period. In my 8th Grade art class we were given a project to draw endangered animals, so the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail was my first choice. The overall color of the picture came out like I wanted it to, but the blending of the colors didn't  come out like I wished it would.

During 7th Grade my photography teacher gave us newspapers and magazines and told us to make collages. So of course butterflies came to mind. I cut out specific colors to add to the butterflies and arranged them how I thought they fit in the outline of my idea. I love the way it turned out, but looking back at it now I wish I added more details to the wings.
